Our design story is a constant development of innovation and references. We are all collectors.
The new range includes classic styles and silhouettes with textile and print initiatives that note a significant change in a braver wardrobe for those who appreciate contemporary casual-wear. We embrace a growing love of colour amongst our style conscious male & female customers - a purposefully lurid and vibrant colour palette of soft lemon, pink and blue against a rich base of plum, navy and black.
We develop our own check designs for shirts, with the addition of unique Ikats - a traditional dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process on the warp or weft threads before weaving into cloth to create the pattern.
The headline is a collaboration with Yorkshire born, London based painter, Alfie Kungu. His vibrant abstract mark making has leant a particularly artful soul to the collection with disruptive textures & prints that cover shirting, shorts, dresses or painterly accents that create placement print on jersey t-shirting. Kungu’s work dances between the lines of figurative and abstract expression.
"We are at an important moment of garment design & development with the blurring of seasons & gender and a growing demand for originality. Fortunately these considerations have always been at the heart of Folks design process and SS19 is a testament to this"
Cathal McAteer, Founder & Creative Director
